Introducing Oscar "Oz" Smith...

Clarence Oscar “Oz” Smith is a native of Washington, DC. Oz has studied at Jarvis Christian College located in Hawkins, Texas. Oz has since returned to the Washington, DC area where he performs with several bands and leads the Oz Revue.

In the theater world Oz has been involved in several stage productions and has been chosen to be the musical director on numerous occasions. Oz served as the musical director and performed in the Georgetown Theater Companies, 1958 production of The Escape. Other theater productions that Oz has been associated with include, In the Spirit, The Razzmatazz Variety Show, and The Field Day – One Man Show. Oz performed in Br’er Rabbit an Imagination Stage production, Bethesda, MD. Oz has also served as the musical director for numerous church choirs throughout Washington, D.C.  

Oz is a musician, singer and songwriter. Before forming the Oz Revue, Oz was a member of the renowned Experience Unlimited (EU) and Trouble Funk go-go bands. In addition to leading the Oz Revue, Oz fronts and plays percussion for the Eddie Becker Band and also performs with Prime Time
 Oz is a natural entertainer and has preformed throughout the Washington, DC metro area for over 40years.

As recipient of the ASCAP Songwriters Showcase – Best Jazz and Blues Composition (Eddie Becker, composer), Oz performed on stage at the
Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts 

Oz’s experience shines through when performing at night clubs, festivals, weddings, corporate and other private functions. Oz’s ability to engage the audience is what brings people back to see him entertain show after show.
